Draft Plan for Reimagining Santa Rosa CityBus

Dear Friends,

As you may know, the City of Santa Rosa has released the Draft Plan for the Reimagining CityBus project (now available at www.srcity.org/remagining).  We are just going into full swing with outreach for this final phase of the project.  We wanted to make sure you aware of our outreach plans and opportunities to comment, and also request your help in disseminating this information to your colleagues and the people your organizations serve.  We have the following resources available to help people understand the proposed changes to the CityBus system:

• Draft Plan available at www.srcity.org/reimagining.  It is quite long, so we have prepared the other resources below to give people a way to engage with the process other than reading a 100 page plan!  The plan does have an Executive Summary that is helpful in understanding the major proposals in the plan.
• Summaries of the short-term service proposal (to be implemented in 2016) in English and Spanish—attached to this email and available in hard copy on all of our buses, at the CityBus customer service counter at City Hall, at various locations throughout the community, and at all of our outreach events.  If you would like hard copies of this brochure to distribute, please let us know! 
• Several outreach events over the next few weeks—please see www.srcity.org/reimagining for more information.
• A “webinar” providing an overview of service proposals in the Draft Plan:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nCyblV-k3s
• An online survey in English in Spanish, available at www.citybussurvey.info.  The survey enables people to comment on a route-by-route basis on the proposed changes for CityBus routes and schedules in the Reimagining CityBus Draft Plan.  We would love to have your help getting the survey link out on social media and to your organizational email lists.  I’ve provided a blurb and image at the end of this email that we used for our social media post (you can also visit the City of Santa Rosa Transportation and Public Works Dept. Facebook page to share our post).  Just FYI—the English version of the survey has a prompt on the splash page that enables people to go to the Spanish version, so you really only have to post the one link to connect people to both English and Spanish versions. 

The next step in the process is a public hearing at the May 3rd City Council meeting (at or after 5:00pm).  At the hearing we will report to the Council on the feedback we have received on the Draft Plan.  We will bring a final plan back to the Council for potential adoption later in May (currently scheduled for May 24^th).
